What makes us different?
At Woodside Child Care Home, we are dedicated to providing a fun and creative environment for children to learn and grow. My love for child care comes from the summers I spent in a child care home, guided by my stepmom, who has over twenty years of experience as a provider in Delaware County. Following in her footsteps, I gained valuable experience working with her and other professionals before establishing my own home. Our mission is to nurture creativity and joy in every child's journey with us!

Hello
My name is Shelby W. I am the owner and teacher of Woodside Child Care Home. I have seven years of paid experience in the early childhood education field from two different childcare homes (Precious Little Angels Child Care in Albany, IN & Play Time Child Care Home in Muncie, IN). I have my Child Development Associates (CDA) Credential, and I am in college for my associates. I have a preschool-aged child who also loves to learn new things. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Don't forget to check out our links for additional information.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a healthy and clean educational environment where our children can safely learn. Our program focuses on what is best for the community and their children’s needs.

Our Vision
Our vision is to educate our students in a fun, safe, and educational environment, so they are prepared to enter the next level of their educational journey with a good foundation.

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy follows the theory of Loris Malaguzzi and his Reggio Emilia approach to allow the child to explore their environment and learn in their own time. Also, we follow the theory of Erik Erikson and his theory of psychosocial development by meeting the needs of each child in each state they are in. Our teacher’s role is to help guide students to meet and exceed their milestones in a fun and inclusive way. The student’s role is to follow the teacher’s guidance by being safe and cooperating with others. Our classroom welcomes everyone at the different stages of their early life to learn and grow. Our curriculum teaches what each child needs to thrive in the next part of their educational journey, including different sign languages. Our classroom uses positive guidance by following different techniques like Conscious Discipline by Dr. Becky Bailey and A Little Spot of Emotions by Diana Alber. Our families are expected to communicate and participate with their child’s needs, concerns, and how their child is doing, so we can help the families with their child’s education and meet milestones at an appropriate time so the child can learn and grow in a positive way.
